The official name of the tomato plant is the Solanum lycopersicum and it belongs to the nightshades family, Solanaceae. The species originated in South America and spread over the world after the European colonization of the Americas in the 16th century. The name tomato is derived from Aztec name for the fruit: tomatl. The tomato has a prominent place in the kitchen and can be used in various ways.

Prudac offers two ranges of indeterminate tomatoes: one for the hobby market, Tutti-Frutti™, and one for the professional market, Profi-Frutti™. Both series are unique in that they represent a whole fruit basket. Each tomato type has its own specific colour, size and taste inspired on various fruits.
